Tawny frogmouth

Photographed attempting to roost in next door's garden for the day. He was convinced that his camouflage as a tree was undetectable. To be fair, if he had been IN a tree, it would have been. Bless him. He got bothered by the other birds all day and at twilight he flew back to his nocturnal life again. Just precious.

Neil Diamond

Now why didn't I go see this guy live sooner and more often????
Failed totally to get decent live shot of the man on stage despite all sorts of tinkering with camera.

These and my memories of an amazing evening will have to do.....

The Mad-Dogs are hot Dogs and the doggies snooze in the sun while they score.

Soo much summer fun and time to enjoy the garden too? Been to the races and the polo but instead of photos from those, here are my pride and joy grown at home.....

Remember that baked landscape yesterday?

This was the view today. The bushfire started within hours of us being there, just up the road. And no, we don't smoke or chuck bottles out of car windows. Everyone's been waiting for further news. This is a biggie.

Wungong Dam

We had an afternoon out, walked over the dam and got blown by the wind. So beautiful here with the water surrounded by the aridness of the baked landscape.

Sunset from our bedroom window:

2 pairs of sulphur-crested cockatoos doing a courtship display just over our back fence:

Dinner at the priest's house. Forgot to take any pics of the people (oops) but I did get this lovely one of the resident huntsman outside. He was about 3" toe-to-toe. Slightly alarming, but harmless.

Scrapping Inspiration

Thank you R for being such an inspiration!
This will be one of the things I am up to between now and April
A scrapbook for J&A for the little R's first year!

Unlike my lovely friend R, I am pretty inexperienced at blogging and photography! This blog will improve my capability no end!
